We were brought on board to design a new website for this lifesaving organization after being recommended as a smaller, leaner, cost-effective alternative to a larger agency that was handling the organization’s marketing communications work. We designed the website responsively for phones, tablets and computers, and the site was also designed to integrate seamlessly with an existing online donor management platform. It featured mouseover effects on the homepage, a mobile-friendly interactive world map (found under Our Work –> Where) and an integrated email list signup.
We also designed an extensive multilayer web animation for the site that told the story of Cristofer, a young boy in the Dominican Republic who needed clean water for his family. This animation project was very close to completion when the marketing director left the organization for a new position out of state, which placed it on an indefinite hold. The website was live for three years while we worked closely with multiple successive directors of marketing at the organization. After a new CEO and new director of marketing & development were brought on board, the newest director of marketing had family members working in design that she wanted to use to take the organization’s web presence in a new direction.
